This is an antique decorative truncheon. A Scottish, beech Edinburgh police baton with handpainted detail, dating to the Victorian period, circa 1850.
- Fascinating decorative truncheon, likely carried by a sergeant
- Displays a desirable aged patina with lightly time worn appearance
- Ebonised beech, with natural colour to the tactile ring turned handle
- Delightful handpainted detail with the Edinburgh Coat of Arms
- Coat of Arms bears the Latin phrase Nisi Dominus Frustra - without the Lord, we act in vain
- Also accentuated with the district number in addition to the Victoria Regina cypher
