This is an antique gentleman's valet stick. An English, faux bamboo metamorphic shooting stick with seat, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900.

Fascinating example of a metamorphic seat, with a superb appearance
Displays a desirable aged patina and in good, working order
Faux bamboo presents bright caramel hues with dark mottling
Quality fittings of cast white metal create the folding mechanism

Perfect for the hill walker, day tripper or as a decorative accoutrement
Use as a traditional shooting stick, or with ferrule tip removed to become a tripod stool
When folded, the seat creates a substantial, tactile handle in two parts
Replete with ferrule cover, which can mount onto the frame when removed
Extended, the seat resides at a comfortable height of 46cm (18'')
