This is an antique set of six, English, superb quality dining chairs in rosewood from the reign of William IV c.1835.
In excellent antique condition, this well-executed design displays superb craftsmanship in a quality, well-figured rosewood with glorious, deep tones and grain detail all chairs stamped with the cabinet maker's name 'F Nicholson'.
Rising from elegant taper tip polygonal legs with a fine molded seat rail, the stunning molded and carved backs, with acanthus detailing and wonderful shaped top rail, offer elegant proportion with a strength of joint throughout.
Seating at a generous 47cm (18.5"), the traditionally upholstered drop-in seat pads, pre-finished in calico cotton, are ready for your upholsterer to dress in a fabric of your choice and offer supportive, comfortable seating.
