This is a vintage Mahjong case. A Chinese, mahogany and celluloid gaming set, dating to the mid 20th century, circa 1950.
- Fascinating locking case, redolent of a decanter Tantalus
- Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order
- Quality mahogany presents fine grain interest throughout
- Graced with rich caramel hues beneath a wax polish finish
- Secure the case with a brass slide lock, with through bar and key on chain
- Arranged in three main sections with a decorative top cover
- Lid accentuated with duelling dragon motif in celluloid inlay
- Offering 144 bamboo and celluloid counters, adorned with colourful markings
- Top tray provides storage for an assortment of counting strips and a trio of small dice
