This is a vintage mah-jongg set. A Chinese, Oriental gaming case, dating to the late 20th century, circa 1980.

Charming 144-piece vintage set with decorative appeal
Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order
Faux leather bound case with brass clasp and handles
Decorated with phoenix and dragon motif to lid, with Greek key pattern to the edges

Sliding clasp holds the case closed securely
Opens to reveal the ivorine game pieces set within two compartments
Lid interior decorated with Oriental scenes and text
Includes a pair of soapstone dice, with fascinating mottled appearance
