This is a vintage cased Mahjong set. a Chinese, lacquered gaming counter set, dating to the Art Deco period and earlier, circa 1940.
- Strikingly coloured set, with a fascinating older carry case
- Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order throughout
- Lacquered pieces present vibrant orange-yellow hues
- Quality, early 20th century carry case presents a deep russet colour
- 144 pieces across three trays, with a fourth tray of sticks and dice
- Superb black decoration to the gaming pieces, with ornate detail
- Compartment to the lid conceals a small book of rules
- Dobbie McInnes lock escutcheon to fascia — in working order, key present
