Antique Windsor Stick Back Chair, Victorian c.1870
Our Stock # 10.1368
This is an antique Windsor, stick back chair dating to the mid-Victorian era, c.1870.
A charming example, this chair most likely heralds from the Buckinghamshire, Marlow area of the United Kingdom.
Raised on splayed turned legs united by an 'H' stretcher, the arms and back are supported on turned spindles around a central pierced back splat.
Deep russet tones and a lustrous shine to the ash, oak and elm used in the construction glow with a warmth. The seat height and raked back compliment the 'cow horn' arms to offer a comfortable seat.
Solid joints and construction, delivered waxed, polished and ready for the home.
