This is a Victorian sewing work table dating to c.1880.
The burr walnut is a real treat on this stunning work box which is rich in hues of warm honey and shades of russet brown.
The surface sits atop a flared, octagonal trumpet mounted on a frieze decorated with foliate engraving, above a turned column with inverted mushroom finial in turn carried by three cabriole legs with scroll and carved detail.
Lifting the hinged lid reveals the stunning compartmentalised interior complete with silk lids to the central, deep recess and three of the larger quadrilateral pockets.
Superb quality and a stunning piece presented in good antique condition. Solid joints and construction. Delivered waxed & polished ready for the home.
