This is an English antique button back salon, or nursing, chair.
From the mid-Victorian era dating to c.1860, this versaile, 'show back' chair is well sprung and traditionally stuffed beneath a light golden fabric in good condition, edged with a brocade trim offering a comfortable seating experience.
The lustrous walnut frame features deep relief, foliate carving to the crest rail, serpentine seat rail and cabriole legs that terminate in scrolls upon the original ceramic castors.
Superb quality and a stunning piece presented in good antique condition. Solid joints and construction. Delivered waxed & polished ready for the home.
