This an antique, turn of the century biscuit barrel made by the renowned Sheffield silversmith Roberts and Belk; The English makers mark stamped clearly on the base.

Standing on three elegant swept feet impressed with classical motifs, the dished stand is edged with ridged detail providing a solid and stable platform for the salmon pink marble barrel.

The upper rim is decorated with floral repouss̩ in contrast to the chased, hinged, snug fitting lid topped with a turned finial for a handle.
