This is a set of fourteen oak and leather, gothic revival dining chairs including four carvers ideal for the wider dining table where two can be employed at each end.
Rare to find sets of this size, these chairs are presented in good antique condition with a warm, aged patina. The oak glows in russet tones and is complimented by the good quality tan hides on the drop in seats and panel backs.
Raised on flat bun feet and generous, baluster turned legs, united by 'H' stretchers, the stout front seat rails are relief decorated with diamond motif.
The double panel seat backs are trimmed with brass studs and flank a central muntin featuring 'arrowhead' relief carvings top and bottom. The crest rail chip carved with field panels around a central stylised rosette.
The carver arms are shaped terminating in scrolled arms and supported by squat baluster turnings. The rear of all chairs show well.
A good set of revival chairs with solid joints and construction, delivered waxed, polished and ready for the home.
