This is an English, antique, Regency sofa dating to c.1830.
Recently upholstered, of generous proportion and classic form, this piece has fine quality. Subtle sweeping curves to the crest rail are complimented by the gentle scrolled arms. Brass inlay dress the seat rail with classical overtones in the rosette detail terminating the arm scrolls and inåÊthe central carved ornament.
Framed in mahogany and raised on turned legs this piece would lend itself to a grand hallway, boutique reception or a commercial environment looking for that touch of understated class.
Traditionally sprung and stuffed the upholstery is of fine quality and in good order, covered in a golden damask fabric trimmed with brocade.
