This is a pair of antique nightstands. An English, mahogany sarcophagus top bedside or fireside cabinet, dating to the William IV period and later, circa 1835. 

• Impressive form and finish, ideal for the grand bedroom or lounge
• Displaying a desirable aged patina and in good order throughout
• Select stocks show fine grain interest and rich russet hues
• Deep in profile, with a striking pagoda or sarcophagus top

• Distinctive reverse cavetto crown mouldings accentuated with chased lobe borders
• Wide field panel door dressed with a brass drop pendant handle upon a quarterfoil backplate
• Opening to the interior with an upper shelf, set back within the cabinet

• Both cabinets replete with inset, brass lined locks — untested, key absent
• Distinctive scalloped corners adorn the front edges
• Raised upon a deep plinth foot, with bracketed feet to the rear
