This is a large cast iron fire back displaying the royal crest, motto. A heavy fire plate to back a fireplace and retain heat. A 17th century revival casting crafted in the late 20th century.
- Heavy fire back in cast iron with a graphite finish
- Shaped top over oblong plate
- Casting of the British royal crest
- Lion and unicorn supporting crown mounted crest
- Bearing the date 1664, the period of the restoration of the monarchy
- Heradic shield encircled with Honi soit qui mal y pense – motto of the British chivalric Order of the Garter
- Ribboned beneath bearing the motto Dieu et mon droit - meaning God and my right and
- Framed in an extruded mount
