This is a large antique pedestal desk. An English, stout oak writing desk with Gothic revival taste, dating to the Victorian period, circa 1870.

• Wide top with comfortable rolled edge presents a claret red rexine skiver of generous size

• Each drawer dressed with an ornate drop handle over an inset lock — keys absent
• Prominent pilasters frame each pedestal, with fluted finish and Corinthian capitals

• Attractive cabinet doors accentuated with chequer board field panels and brass lock escutcheons
• Each door crafted from impressively thick stocks, in keeping with the revival taste
• Three documents trays sit within the left hand pedestal, the right-hand with a single shelf
• Standing upon eight block feet with squat bun toes
