This is an antique umbrella or stick stand dating to the Edwardian era, c.1910.
The beautifully aged patina is a real charm in this vernacular piece that stands testament to the quality of craftsmanship of artisans around the turn of the century.
The stiff, patinated leather is double bound top and bottom with embossed seam, the turned top trim swagged in detail stands out decoratively against the suede interior.
A beautiful blind impressed band decorates the upper periphery displaying grape vine detail and is balanced by a lower geometric reciprocating band at the foot of the piece. Inside, a two part drip tray is fitted in the base protecting the bottom.
A charming and functional piece of superior quality, delivered waxed, polished and ready for the home.
