This is an antique verger's stool. An English, oak side or hall stool with ecclesiastical taste, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900.
- Pleasingly petite and with a delightful carved appearance
- Displays a desirable aged patina and in very good order
- Select oak stocks present warm caramel hues
- Fine figuring throughout with wisps of medullary rays
- Fascinating carved squab with carry handle to centre
- Circular medallion surrounds the handle, accentuated with foliate motif
- Stout block shoulders frame shaped scroll aprons to each side
- Standing upon a quartet of bun feet, united with stretcher rails
