This is an antique twin pier cabinet. An English, walnut and boxwood glazed bookcase, dating to the Regency period, circa 1820.
- Of superb appearance and craftsmanship, and graced with appealing detail
- Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order throughout
- Select walnut stocks present fine grain interest and warm caramel hues
- Quality glazing to each door, with a clear and bright appearance
- Boxwood inlay accentuates the upper apron and to the side of each door
- Ormolu mounts add brightwork to the upper and lower fascia
- Right hand door dressed with a shaped lock escutcheon — in working order, key present
- Small sliding latch to the edge of the left hand door for safe closing
- Original velvet interior with a lightly time-worn appearance
- Pair of fixed shelves offering graduated display heights
- The whole standing upon a plinth foot with shaped apron
- Panelled to the rear with a dark stained finish over bracket feet
