This is a set of 3 antique quarter plate film holders. An English, mahogany double dark photographic slide, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900.
- A fascinating set of early photographic slides
- Displaying a desirable aged patina and in very good order
- Select stocks present fine grain interest and rich russet hues
- Brass latches and clasps show subtle golden tones
- Ebonised interior, with thin metal plate for holding the film stock in place
- Accepts 'quarter plate' film plates of 3.25" x 4.25"
- Numbered sides set within circular emblems
- Untested for light seal, but superb decorative interest - compatible plate camera unknown
