This is an antique plant stand, an English, Victorian torchere dating to the end of the 19th century, circa 1900.

Delightful, tapering barley twist stem
Rising from ring turned and carved base
Anchored in a broad, carved platform
Standing upon three hairy paw feet for stability
Attractive dark stained, wax polished finish
The dished top taking a pot up to 22cm (8.75") in diameter
