This is an antique mantlepiece vase. A French, ceramic and gilt metal display planter or jardiniere, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900.
- Graceful of form, with attractive colour and decorations
- Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order throughout
- Clear, bright ceramic enhanced with a light blue wash
- Colourful foliate scenes decorate the front and rear fascia
- Distinctive beaded edge to the gilt metal rim
- Offering an opening diameter of 9.5cm (3.75") - ideal for smaller houseplants
- Scrolled leaf forms to either side, with golden lobe detail
- Standing upon a pierced gilt metal base with scrolled toes
