This is an antique loose tea caddy. An English, mahogany and velvet dual compartment case, dating to the Regency period, circa 1820.
- Beautiful Regency craftsmanship with a superb visual appeal
- Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order
- Select stocks present fine grain interest throughout
- Rich caramel hues beam beneath the wax polish finish
- Pleasingly thick lid opens to reveal a pair of canisters
- Each enclosed with a flip-top lid with recessed touch point
- Central mixer compartment accommodating a glass up to 10cm in diameter (4'')
- Fascia dressed with an inset lock — in working order, key present
- Brass drop handles to either side, over pierced foliate backplates
- Standing upon a quartet of squat bun feet
