This is an antique ladies writing desk. An English, mahogany and leather correspondence table, dating to the early Victorian period, circa 1850.
- Pleasingly petite desk with a delightful appearance
- Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order
- Select stocks present fine grain interest and rich caramel hues
- Wide leather skiver inset to the top, with Greek key tooling and embossed outer edge
- Arrangement of drawers to the fascia, the left bank disguising a cabinet door
- Dressed with appealing foliate circular pulls in warm brass tones
- Kneehole accentuated with shaped brackets, with carved swirl accents
- The kneehole set at a comfortable height of 59.5cm (23.5'')
- Raised upon a slender quartet of turned legs, with collared finish
