This is an antique Imari plate. A Japanese hand-painted ceramic serving dish, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900.
- Charming example of Imari taste with appealing colour
- Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order
- White ground distinctively accentuated with red and blue hues
- Gently flared rim with wavy scalloped edge
- Central flower bouquet with red petals and blue leaves
- Issuing red decorative panels framing blue bands with gilt coloured medallions
- Green painted leaves add additional colour to the fascia
- Light blue motif adorns the reverse, with circular bands to the foot
