This is an antique Gerbera vase. A Japanese, ceramic single stem flower vase, dating to the Meiji period, circa 1900.

Distinctive 'double gourd' form with strong Japanese taste
Displays a desirable aged patina throughout
Cream coloured ceramic ground with bright green and orange secondary palette
Decorated with hand-painted, traditional Japanese figures
Pair of maker's marks to base in Japanese characters, one inscribed
