This is an antique drawing room elbow chair. An English, mahogany and leather desk seat, dating to the Regency period, circa 1820.
- Fine Regency example with good taste and elegance
- Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order
- Select stocks present fine grain interest
- Delightful palette of caramel hues and chestnut tanned leather
- Distinctive bowed crest rail with gadrooned finish
- Shaped back splay with spiral flowerhead motif to centre
- Striking serpentine arms with swept supports and scrolled knuckles
- Traditionally stuffed cushion, at a comfortable height of 46cm (18'')
- Finished with appealing press stud trim to the lower edge
- Standing upon turned front legs with gently swept rear legs
