This is an antique desk compass. An English, oak maritime or ship's compass and dating to the Regency period, circa 1830.

Of fine form and bright, legible, sun-burst face - diameter of 17.5cm (7")
Displays a desirable aged patina and glass in good order
Select oak with fine grain interest and consistent colour throughout
Cardinal directions with magnetic north marked using a broad tri-form motif
Additional intercardinal and secondary intercardinal points for extra accuracy

Solid joints and construction, delivered waxed, polished and ready for the home.
