This is an antique campaign salt cellar. A Chinese, stained pine and brass bound oval cask, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900.
- Fascinating form and a delightful finish from the late Qing period
- Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order
- Stained pine presents deep russet hues to the ovoid form
- Bound with brass strapping to the top for strength
- Opening lid held securely with a leather and bone sliding clasp over a brass plate
- Dressed with a pair of drop handles to either side for ease of carriage
