This is an antique bow front tallboy. An English, mahogany and brass chest of drawers, dating to the Georgian period, circa 1780.
- Delightful bow front chest of four long drawers with beautiful figuring
- Presenting a desirable aged patina and in good order
- Select stocks present fine grain interest, accentuated with ebonised stringing
- Rich caramel hues with warm highlights dance across the bowed form
- Four graduated drawers at heights of 10cm to 17.5cm (4'' to 7'')
- Dressed with distinctive drop handles, with a 'human eye' motif to the oval backplates
- Inset brass-lined locks present on each fascia — untested, key absent
- Upper drawer with a trio of divisions for better organisation
- Standing upon a quartet of shaped bracket feet in the Sheraton manner
This is a wonderful antique bow front tallboy, with fine figuring and useful proportion. As good to use within a drawing room as it would be for the bedroom. Solid joints and construction, delivered ready for the home.
