This is an antique apothecary pill rolling machine. An English, mahogany and brass chemist's countertop instrument, dating to the early Victorian period, circa 1850.
- Fascinating example of an apothecary roller, with a desirable display appeal
- Displaying a wonderfully aged patina and in good original order
- Select stocks show fine grain interest, patination and rich russet hues
- Sloping base dressed with a brass rolling platform, with the alternating groove set upon the handle
- Arranged for 24 individual pills per batch, the chemist would roll the mixture and form them within the grooves
