This is an antique 3 draw telescope. An English, brass and leather dressed refractor by Newton & Co, dating to the Victorian period, circa 1870.
Perfect for bird watching, landscape appreciation, wildlife, or maritime observation. Equally suitable for observing the night sky

- Displays a desirable aged patina throughout
- Warm caramel hues to the lightly time-worn leather
- Polished brass presents bright golden tones
- Leather cups to each end protect the optics
- Draws smoothly from within the primary barrel
- Sliding sun shade encloses the generous 42mm objective (1.75'')
- Rear eye-cup hosts a sliding dust shield
- Engraved to the barrel for Newton 7 Co with serial number 01185
- Newton & Co occupied the address on Fleet Street from 1851
- The British Military Broad Arrow (Pheon) over the Letter 'I' indicates its use in India
- Supplied with a London Fine oak and brass Captains Stand for display
