This is a small antique spice jar. A Japanese, ceramic decorative pot, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900.

Appealing traditional decor with cheerful colour
Displaying a desirable aged patina and in good order
Cream coloured ceramic with a patterned ground
Decorated with colourful figures across the fascia and naive landscape to domed lid
Brown coloured bands with engraved detail accentuates the neck and lid edge
Character mark present to the circular base
