This is an antique tribal jardiniere. An African, ironwood and cast iron bound decorative bowl, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900.

Wonderfully naive tribal craftsmanship and appearance
Displays a desirable aged patina throughout
Hand-carved and refined ironwood shows deep chestnut hues
Bound with cast iron strapping to the bulbous body
Of useful proportion, ideal for use as a distinctive planting pot
