This is an antique planter. A Japanese, bronze decorative jardiniere in Tokugawa or Edo taste, dating to the mid Victorian period, circa 1860.

Fascinatingly decorative planter with delightful Japanese taste
Displays a desirable aged patina and in good original order
Quality bronze presents a consistently weathered brown hue
Trio of panels to each fascia host relief scenes of birds
Distinctive handles in the form of an elephant's head and trunk
