This is an antique hexagonal spice jar. A Japanese, glazed earthenware lidded pot, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1880.

Striking colour and charming decoration from the Meiji period
Displays a desirable aged patina, some marks commensurate with age
Distinctive hexagonal form a delight of bright green glaze
Inset panels host foliate relief
Tapering circular lid with concentric detail in natural finish
