This is an antique decorative stem vase. A Japanese, bronze Meiji era baluster urn, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1880.

Traditional baluster form with superb relief bird detail
Displaying a desirable aged patina with minimal weathering
Bronze shows fine tonality with a deep chestnut colouration
Decorative relief birds sit prominently around the body
Dressed to the base with a leather protective pad
