This is a vintage country house sideboard. An Oriental, Chinese elm side cabinet, dating to the mid 20th century, circa 1960.
- Pleasingly robust and offering useful storage
- Displays a desirable aged patina throughout
- Chinese elm presents dark caramel hues and fine grain interest
- Of stout proportions, crafted from thick stocks
- Arranged as two pairs of graduated drawers with a central two-door cupboard
- Fascinatingly dressed with a cast iron 'hairpin' clasp, the large backplates with unusual drop handles
- Each drawer hosts shaped handles over rectangular backplates, the quality boxes crafted with dovetail joints
- Standing upon square section feet to each corner
