This is a pair of antique hall chairs. An English, oak, occasional dining seat displaying ecclesiastical taste, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900.
- Robust and impressively stout chairs with beautiful figuring
- Displaying a desirable aged patina and in good order
- Select oak shows superb grain interest and wisps of medullary rays
- Rich caramel hues beam beneath the wax polish finish
- Finished with prominent tapering finials to each side
- The top rail with recessed panel, dressed with unmarked nickel brass plates
- Field panel to centre relief carved with the initials LHS set within a medallion
- Offers a comfortable seat height of 46cm (18'')
- Stood upon decorated square section legs to the front with short spade feet
- Attractive shaped brackets add a flourish to each leg
- Gently splayed rear legs united front to back by H-stretcher
