This is an antique campaign correspondence box. An Anglo-Indian, teak and brass bound Colonial traveller's writing case, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1880.
- Captivatingly appointed interior, set within a quality bound case
- Displays a desirable aged patina, commensurate with careful use
- Teak stocks present fine grain interest and rich caramel hues
- Flourishes of golden tones from the extensive brass bounding
- Lid opens to reveal a fully-featured interior, replete with letter rack and compartments
- Trio of articulated slides to centre create an inset platform, ahead of lift out trays
- Dressed with a distinctive brass lock escutcheon — untested, key absent
- Stout carry handles in the campaign manner, with shaped drop handles on diamond mounts
