This is an antique folding campaign table. An Anglo-Indian, teak colonial occasional table, dating to the mid Victorian period, circa 1880.
- Ornately pierced fretwork and an unusual, rectangular folding form
- Displays a desirable aged patina - minor losses commensurate with age
- Teak stocks present deep chestnut hues and patination
- In two pieces for ease of stowage, in the campaign manner
- Enthusiastically carved to all surfaces, offering a distinguished appeal
- The top a melange of vines with a flowerhead medallion to centre
- Each section of the base enhanced with fretwork panels and shaped brackets
- Each leg and the table edge decorated with a repeating border
This is a fascinating antique folding campaign table, a wonderful example of colonial furniture. Solid joints and construction, delivered waxed, polished and ready for the home.
