This is a large antique specimen display dome. An English, glass and ebonised pine taxidermy showcase, dating to the Victorian period, circa 1870.

Appealingly tall example, with a pleasingly bright appearance
Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order
Tall profile dome presents a clear view through quality glass
Skilfully crafted, the dome forms a tight seal with the base
Cushion pad to centre dressed in later, faux crocodile leather
Raised upon an ebonised pine base with small bun feet
