This is an antique strong box. An English, brass and bronze secret letter or valuables case, dating to the Regency period, circa 1820.

Appealing, polished box with an unusual and distinctive rope braid motif
Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order throughout
Polished brass and bronze presents shimmering golden tonality
Offering a working lock with key, opening on a half turn and automatically locking upon closing
Dressed with a cobalt blue leather interior in an original, clean order
