This is an antique executive desk book slide. An English, walnut and burr extending bookrest, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1880.

Beautifully appointed slide with an attractive presentation for favoured titles
Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order throughout
Select walnut to the ends show fine grain interest and rich caramel hues
Burr walnut plinth with superb figuring and ebonised, tiered edge
Each end extends outwards to add further space for books
Dressed to the base with a protective waxed covering
