This is an antique decorative desk stand. An Indian, ebony Colonial writer's tidy, dating to the early Victorian period, circa 1850.

Striking dark tonality with eye-catching Colonial taste

A suite of compartments, adorned with prominent turned finials

Central sliding compartment lid hosts a carved elephant figure
Useful drawer to the base dressed with small brass pulls

Raised upon distinctive shaped bracket feet to each corner
