This is an antique schoolmaster's chair. An English, stout oak desk or elbow seat, dating to the Edwardian period, circa 1910.
- Superb chair, of thick stocks and institutional appeal
- Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order
- Quality oak stocks present fine grain interest
- Finished in beautifully warm caramel hues throughout
- Gently angled back rest, the crest rail between a pair of square cut finials
- Recessed panel over a flat seat squab at a comfortable height of 46.5cm (18.25'')
- Serpentine arms of broad profile, raised upon gently tapering supports
- Square section legs, united by stretcher rails and gently splayed to rear
