This is an antique Gothic Revival hall chair. A Scottish, oak baronial reception seat, dating to the Victorian period, circa 1870.

• Of superb Gothic appearance and excellent proportion
• Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order

• Dome top crest rail between a pair of turned finials
• Upper accentuated with a carved foliate medallion
• Back rest adorned with a trio of arcade panels
• Fascinating buttress sides host inlaid relief forms and scroll motif
  
  
• Comfortable, flat seat squab at a useful height of 48cm (19")
• Knees finished with stylish cross icons, in an ecclesiastical manner
• Turned and cupped front legs ride smoothly upon coasters
• Canted rear legs fall away gently from the back rest
