This is an antique captain's desk chair. An English, elm and beech smoker's bow or elbow seat, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1880.

Displaying a desirable aged patina and in good order
Select elm and beech stocks show fascinating grain interest throughout
Graced with warm caramel hues across the attractive form
The bowed crest rail gently chamfered to the trailing edge
Ring turned spindles rise obliquely supporting the striking horseshoe armrest
The arms terminating in scrolled hand grips
Standing upon a quartet of turned baluster legs and united by a 'H' stretcher
