This is an antique Chinese elm bench dating from the late Qing Dynasty, circa 1900.
Beautiful patina and utterly solid this bench has an extremely desirable formal style and would grace any entrance hall, kitchen or bedroom.
Raised on square section legs with turned in toes, the waisted top floats above stretchers featuring decorative pierced carving details to the centre of each side.
The top, simple in form, features a well figured single panel within the broad framework and provides a stable surface.
Ideal as a bench or low table this versatile piece has an abundance of charm in it's deep tones and hues.
