This is a set of four antique dining chairs from the mid 18th century.
The figuring in the English oak, to the top rails especially, is a delight adding character to strength. Well crafted and robust, the 3/4 stretchers and foot rest serve well for a stable and comfortable seat.
Displaying classic Chippendale styling from the ears to the pierced back splats and from the delicately fluted front legs to the swept rear, these chairs have have a pleasing proportion and patina.
Currently upholstered in a classic striped fabric, the convenient drop in seat pads would be easy to recover in a material of your choice.
Solid joints and construction, delivered waxed, polished and ready for the home.
